Here are answers to some common questions. 

  • What time zone is the Grand Canyon in?

    The Grand Canyon is in the Mountain Standard Time (MST) zone.


    Important note: Most of Arizona, including the Grand Canyon, does not observe Daylight Saving Time, so it stays on MST year-round—even when other states switch to daylight time.

  • What is the temperature in the Grand Canyon?

    The temperature at the bottom of the canyon is much warmer than it is on the rim. During the summer, the rim temperature typically stays between 80°-90° Fahrenheit (26°-32° C). At the bottom, the temperature can range from 90°-120° (32°-46° C). Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

  • How will I know my pickup details?

    You will receive an email or text message the day before your tour to arrange your pickup time and location.



  • What is your cancellation policy?

    Cancellation policies may vary by tour. Please refer to the specific tour's cancellation policy for details.

  • Are mobility aids allwed on the tours?

    Mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and walkers are not allowed. Arriving with any of these will result in a denial of boarding without a refund.

  • Are kids allowed on the tours?

    Age requirements vary by tour. Please check the specific tour details for age limits and child eligibility.

  • Can we bring pets/animals?

    No, pets are not allowed on the tours. This includes service, therapeutic and personal pets.  We are sorry for this inconvenience, but to respect our guests that are allergic to dogs, cats, and other animals, we request you do not bring your pets and/or animals into the canyon. We abide by strict rules and regulations to protect and preserve the canyon.

  • Do you offer travel insurance?

    We recommend considering travel insurance for your trip. While we don’t directly provide insurance, we can guide you on where to purchase suitable coverage.

  • Do you go to skywalk?

    Yes, Grand Canyon Tours goes to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. The Skywalk is located at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon, which lies within the Hualapai Indian Reservation. The Grand Canyon has three primary visitor regions: the West Rim, North Rim, and South Rim. Stretching 277 miles in total, only the first 129 miles fall within the boundaries of Grand Canyon National Park. Both the North Rim and South Rim are located inside the national park, while the West Rim is situated outside the park on tribal land managed by the Hualapai Nation.
